Russia-based, precious metal mining group Polymetal, will supply electricity from solar power plant developed by Russian solar panel manufacturer Hevel.
The company’s mine located in the Far East region of Russia has limited access to electricity and transmission networks. The federal region, where the mine is located, is the largest, but also the least populated region of the country, so it has difficulties in energy and transportation infrastructure. This situation has led Polymetal to produce its own electricity from solar power.
Hevel Solar, a Russian solar panel manufacturer and project developer with joint venture of Russian industrial company Renova Group and nanotechnology supplier JSC Rusnano will provide electricity to the metal mine with a capacity of 1MW solar energy power plant to be installed in Khabarovsk.
