LG Solar, the electronics and solar specialist, has set course for a successful 2018 at its annual partner meeting. On 22nd and 23rd of February, the manufacturer invited its dealers to the annual partner event, this time in the Spanish city of Barcelona. In addition to setting out future strategy, LG presented the most important product innovations of the current year. The manufacturer also awarded the 2017 LG Solar Awards to distributors who have made an outstanding contribution to the business success of the past year.
Shaping the solar future together
At the opening of the event, C.S. Chung, Global Sales Director at LG Solar, welcomed the assembled industry experts. On a visit to Camp Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona, participants exchanged views on the past year and their plans for 2018. The first day ended with a visit to the Freixenet winery and dinner.
The second day of the event centred on the pioneering product solutions and LG Solar strategy. The first session started with an outlook on the global market development for photovoltaic systems, with C.S. Chung reporting on future opportunities and challenges in the market. Before the lunch break, the manufacturer provided its partners with insights into its EU Sales Strategy for 2018. The second session started with a roadmap of upcoming modules and innovations in the coming year. Subsequently, Peter Verkempimnck, Vice President of Air Conditioning Solutions at LG revealed the additional sales potential through the sale of LG heat pumps. Steve Oh, Executive Vice President of HEMS Solutions explained how LG Electronics’ Smart Energy Solution can help drive new customer relationships and partnerships. At the concluding panel discussion, the participants of the event took advantage of the opportunity to exchange information on current market topics and future scenarios in order to jointly shape the year ahead.
At the end of the event, C.S. Chung and Michael Harre, Vice President of the EU Solar Business Group, awarded the coveted LG Solar Sales Awards to particularly meritorious affiliates. In addition, other companies were honored in the category of “Best Projects”, “Innovative Business Model” and “Communication”, as well as “Best Support of the LG PRO Installer Program.”
