Spain’s Audax and Ireland’s WElink Investment Holdings have signed Europe’s largest photovoltaic PPA for supply from a series of plants in Spain and Portugal, Audax said.
Audax will buy the output from WElink’s Solara4 plant in Portugal as well as from other projects in Spain and Portugal, which should reach 708 MW. The supply deal is for 20 years, Audax said, at a fixed price which it did not disclose.
Solara4, in the Faro region, is expected to connect to the grid this year with a capacity of 219 MW.The deal also covers output from the 46 MW Ourika plant estimated to generate 82 GWh/year.
Last March, Audax signed a similarly large deal in Portugal with Cox Energy, for 660 MW.
