Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) said today it has won a contract to supply 164 MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to the 350-MWp Escatron Solar project in Spain.
The particular project is owned by COBRA Group, which in turn is a subsidiary of Spanish group ACS (BME:ACS). The latter was assigned 1.55 GWp of capacity in Spain’s renewable energy auction held in 2018, including Escatron Solar.
ACS will serve as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services provider. It will use more than 481,900 units of Canadian Solar’s 72-cell MaxPower polycrystalline modules for this project. Module deliveries are expected to begin this month, while the project itself is seen to become operational next year.
