Canadian Solar has started construction of an 80-MW solar park in Argentina’s Salta province, the local government said on Wednesday.
The photovoltaic (PV) plant, located in Cafayate town is among the winners in the RenovAr tenders and will be built using 30% of local components, the government said.
The park is scheduled to commence operations in June of next year. It will be connected to the national grid through a 132-kV transmission line that links Cafayate with Pampa Grande town.

In addition to this solar farm, two other PV parks of 100 MW each will be built in the province, in the San Antonio de los Cobres municipality. These projects should break ground between November and December and enter into operations at the beginning of 2020, the government noted.
